刺し子-Sashiko- Placemat
刺し子-Sashiko- Placemat
Reversible design.
It uses "sashiko" fabric, the same as HikU's formal happi coat,
and is designed with two-tone shading by washing a single material in different ways.
Sashiko is a technique originally developed in the Tohoku region.
To survive the harsh winters, stitches were used to fill gaps in the fabric to enhance insulation.
Like judo and kendo uniforms, it's a material that somehow feels warm, evoking human warmth.
The surface of Lake Biwa, reflecting the moon over Nagahama,
is a mirror that simply reflects the beauty that is there.
The serene surface of your heart is
a mirror that simply reflects your perfect self.
"Lake" signifies the expanse of a beautiful heart,
and "mirror" signifies the reflection of
self-love.
"Hometown"
It is always
present in one's heart.
I want you to feel the warmth
as if you were returning home for a meal.
This work embodies such feelings.
With an ultra-high-definition woven label of
"Shiga Nagahama" and "Sugunawa."
