This is a leather cover designed to fit a Thermos insulated can.
The leather used is a premium full-vegetable tanned plain nude leather from Sanyo Leather, a tanner known for producing some of Japan's highest quality leathers. We repeatedly prototyped various shades, wax applications, and thicknesses to finally achieve this unique wax pull-up leather.
After an initial dyeing, only the surface is dyed again, which accentuates the contrast between the surface and the flesh side (underside). A key characteristic is how the color changes when bent, allowing you to achieve your preferred "distressed look." Additionally, with prolonged use, the surface will wear down, and the leather's original color will emerge through minor scratches. It's a leather that develops an indescribable depth of character.
